
About Cynthia Strite, Cynthia Strite completed the course for Five O'Clock coach certification in the fall of 2000, after being a 'graduate' of the job search seminars herself. She attributes her success in finding her current position to the weekly support, guidance and job-search strategy of the Club.Dr. Strite earned her doctorate in adult learning and leadership from Columbia University. She has over 20 years of management experience in communications, education, and coaching in the public and private sectors. Her master's degree in public administration (Penn State University) led to a position with a federal agency in Washington D.C., and nine years later she became Human Resources and Education Director for the office of NYC Comptroller Elizabeth Holtzman. When Holtzman left office four years later, Cynthia engineered a career shift to the private sector. She now holds a senior management position in the consumer communications department of a Fortune 500 company. For the past 5 years, as an adjunct professor in the graduate department of the Fashion Institute of Technology, Dr. Strite has been teaching leadership. She is certified in both the Myers-Briggs and Emotional Intelligence assessments and has often combined these tools with the Five O'Clock Club's Seven Stories Exercise to help clients gain greater insight and understanding of their personal strengths and challenges. She frequently conducts "Your Image: A Deal Maker or a Deal Breaker?" workshops in both business and academia wherein she stresses the importance of one's image and personal 'branding' for remaining competitive in the workplace. Cynthia's passion for The Five O'Clock Club is matched by boundless enthusiasm for her coaching role. Her positive and energetic spirit is a source of inspiration to people in the midst of job search or career change.
