
About Damona Sain, PhD
Damona is a career counselor specializing in assessment, career transition and educational planning. She has been a career counselor since the late 1970's and has worked with thousands of college students and graduates, college-educated adults in transition, and those wanting to find their life's passions. She has worked full-time in three community colleges and maintains a part-time private practice as a career counselor. Her practice stresses creative yet practical solutions to move clients toward new horizons in life and career. Damona has taught a college Life Planning and Career Development course numerous semesters since 1996. She has also lead groups in Life Management topics, e.g. Assertiveness, Test-Taking Anxiety, Stress Management, as well as Career Development groups in Skill Assessment, Finding Your Personality, and Careers in Allied Health. Her interests include the therapeutic use of animals, and she owns two certified "therapy dogs" that she takes to nursing homes and schools. In her private practice the dogs are sometimes invited to participate, with client permission, often helping clients realize that life can be playful and fun during the most stressful of times. |
