About Joan Runnheim Olson,
In fact, for many years prior to becoming Five O'Clock Club certified, Joan used our Seven Stories exercise and other assessment tools to help clients better understand themselves and uncover career opportunities. She especially enjoys helping clients develop a focused plan that empowers them to develop and maintain momentum to achieve their job search goals.
Before establishing her private practice, Joan worked in both the for-profit and not-for-profit arenas. Her first-hand experience with lay-offs, career change, and job search allows her to "put herself in her clients' shoes."
In her private practice, Joan's clients come from a wide range of fields, including healthcare, IT, and sales and marketing. For over four years, she has served as a career expert for Monster.com, a leading global careers network.
Joan has extensive experience helping women enter nontraditional careers, i.e., those careers in which less than 25 per cent of the workforce is comprised of women. She has addressed the topic of nontraditional careers to large audiences at professional development meetings across the United States. Joan also delivers workshops on a variety of other career development topics.
Joan earned a Master's degree from the University of Wisconsin. Her professional memberships include Career Planning and Adult Development Network, National Career Development Association, Career Masters Institute, and Toastmasters. Joan also earned Career Management Coach Certification through the Career Coach Academy.
