
About Laura S. Hill,
Laura Hill brings over 25 years of experience in executive recruiting, outplacement and corporate positions to her career coaching practice and her affiliation with The Five O'Clock Club. She completed Club certification to add expertise in our methodology to her considerable skills. She focuses on mid to senior-level executives and provides her clients with real-world perspective in helping them define and achieve their career goals.
Her services include personal assessment, strategic career planning, and assistance in conducting effective job searches. She advises client on résumés, interviewing skills, recruiter outreach and negotiations. She has substantial experience with executive compensation packages. Her clients include C-suite executives, MBA's from top business schools, physicians in corporations, law firm partners and associates, and Wall Street professionals. Her industry expertise includes financial services, especially capital markets and investment management; media/entertainment/internet; consumer products; and professional services.
Laura's work has been featured in The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, CFO Magazine and SmartMoney.com and she has been a contributing author for the Forte Foundation's Online Career Center. She is a frequent speaker at professional groups; these have included Financial Executives International (FEI), Stern Women in Business, The Financial Women's Association, The Association of Corporate Counsels and Financial Executives Networking Group (FENG).
Prior to starting her own coaching business in 2004, Laura was managing director, client services at Crenshaw Associates, a boutique career management firm that works exclusively with senior executives, including CEO's. Prior to that, Laura was managing director at Redwood Partners, a retainer-based executive search firm where she authored their Internet CFO Study and placed financial, marketing, business development and technology executives. She also owned her own recruiting firm that served new media and Internet concerns. Earlier in her career, Laura was an associate with the retainer search firm Korn/Ferry International and a vice president at Chase Manhattan Bank.
Laura has an MBA in finance from The Stern School at NYU, and a degree in marketing from the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas. She is qualified to use the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator and is experienced in interpreting Johnson O'Connor aptitude results.
