About Roy Cohen,

Master Coach

Roy is an executive coach and career counselor with extensive background advising professionals on career-related matters, often involving the management of life at work or transition.  He has been with the Five O'Clock Club since 1991 and is one of the Club's longest tenured coaches. He leads one of our small groups for executives at our main Club in Manhattan.

Roy specializes in the delivery of career services primarily to senior and mid-level executives. He has worked extensively with clients from diverse industries, most notably Wall Street, retailing and fashion, publishing, consumer products, and entertainment. For 14 years, he also served as the sole in-house career and outplacement counselor to Goldman Sachs.

Roy maintains an active private practice serving both individuals and corporations in the areas of career management, executive coaching and leadership development. He has been a guest speaker at numerous events and organizations, including the Yale Club, various business school alumni groups (Harvard, Chicago, etc), and the Financial Women's Association. He has also participated in the 92nd Street Y "About Women" series, both as a facilitator and panel member, and he has been a featured speaker at the "Women on Wall Street" annual conference.

Roy has been quoted often in the press, and he has appeared on ABC World News Tonight and Fox Five News. He is a former adjunct faculty member at New York University and the New School University.

He holds an MBA from Columbia, a Masters in Counseling Psychology from Colgate and an undergraduate degree from Cornell.
