F. A. Q.
Q. My membership has expired. May I still use the Five O’Clock Club LinkedIn database?
A. The Five O’Clock Club LinkedIn Database is a free service. Former clients can access the database regardless of their current membership status. However, you can keep your Club membership up-to-date and keep on getting our mglossy magazine by simply emailing us (oper@fiveoclockclub.com) your current contact information (address, phone and email). It would also be helpful for us to know where you are currently working and the kind of work you do. We will add one year to your membership for every year you give us up-to-date information.
Q. How do I get the password for the database?
A. You can be accepted into our LinkedIn database after you have attended four small-group meetings. Just do the following:
Go to www.linkedin.com. Sign in or join.
· The menu on the left of the page has "home" followed by "groups." Click on "groups."
· At the top of the Groups page, there are tabs. The second one says "Groups Directory."
· On the right-hand side, it says, "Search Groups." Enter "Five O'Clock Club".
· You will be taken to the Five O'Clock Club main page. Click on "Join this group." If you are eligible, you request to join will be accepted.
· Email us (oper@fiveoclockclub.com) your up-to-date contact information (name, address, phone and email), and get one extra year on your subscription to our glossy magazine, the Five O'Clock Club News.
After you join, you will not have to go through all of this. Instead, The Five O'Clock Club will be listed as one of the groups you belong to and you will be able to simply click on our group.
Q. I'm a shy person. I'm not really sure how to go about contacting people I don't know.
A. It's easy! Don't forget these people have listed themselves because they want to network! You're not really begging someone for a meeting. When someone agrees to meet with you, they stand to gain from the exchange as well. Don't forget to read the terms of service again. Sometimes people who are new to networking can come off as timid and awkward, or abrasive and pushy. Read the guidelines again and stick to them. You'll do just fine.
Q. Am I allowed to ask a job-search question on the site?
A. Sure! Ask anything you want. Either Kate or one of our coaches will answer it.
